I started writing when I was in 5th grade and passed my chapters around to my friends at slumber parties. That became the first book I ever wrote, The Mystery of 1313. Of course, now I don’t remember what that mystery was. But still I love suspense and romance. My first book to be published, Friends Forever , is full of both.
I also am a member of the National Association of Memoir Writers and am working on three memoirs about mother/daughter relationships. The first My Mother’s Quilt is about Amie Ade, my former daughter-in-law and her battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease. The second My Mother’s Note is about my mother’s suicide. The third is about my adopted daughter, Missy.
I live in my hometown of Pana, which is in Central Illinois. My husband Larry and I have two children, Nelson and Missy, and four grandchildren. We love to travel and to spend time with family and friends at our lake home.
